Some poems must be written lest the poet risk themselves by keeping it all in. It is in this same way that clouds must rain and the wind must blow. And like love itself, these things are really beyond us (regardless of how we may try to shield ourselves from their impact). Yes, some poems must be written. In Love is a Cat, love is at once ferocious and gentle, mediative and destructive. Things are exactly what they are and something else entirely. A glance is a new world, a kiss is a pact, and adoration is embodied in flesh and blood. Love is real and beautiful and it is also dangerous.
